What We Believe

Romans 8:1-8 (1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (3) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. (6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

We believe…

That the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God and preserved for English speaking people in the King James Version of the Bible.
(II Peter 1:21; II Tim. 3:16-17)

In God that exists as a Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Matt. 28:19; Gal. 4:6)

The world was created by God in six literal twenty-four hour days.
(Gen. 1)

All mankind is sinful after the fall of Adam, and all mankind is in need of salvation.
(Rom. 5:12)

In the virgin birth, sinless life of Jesus Christ, and that He died for the sins of all mankind.
(Matt 1:18-25; Heb 10:10)

In the literal, bodily resurrection from the grave and bodily ascension into Heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for believers.
(Rom. 8:34; I Cor. 15:4)

Salvation is by grace, through faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross.
(Eph. 2:8-9)

In the eternal security of the believer in Christ.
(I John 5:9-13)

In a literal Heaven and a literal Hell as the only two eternal abodes of the souls of men.
(John 14:2-3; II Peter 2:4)

Those that have put their faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross will abide with God in Heaven. Those that reject His salvation will abide forever in the Lake of Fire.
(I John 5:12)

In the autonomy of the local church as an assembly of baptized believers with the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission.
(Acts 13:2)

The church observes two ordinances: baptism by immersion for believers, and the Lord’s Supper.
(Acts 2:41; I Cor. 11:23-30)

In the Second Coming of Christ in two phases: the pre-tribulational rapture of all believers, and the pre-millenial return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(I Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 19:11-13)

In separating from current trends in doctrine and practice that are not in accordance with the Bible. Including: liberalism, ecumenicalism, the tongues movement, the healing movement, the emerging church movement, and contemporary worship practices.
(II Cor. 6:14-17)

The Word of God is the sole authority for the believer’s faith, conduct and doctrine.
(Rom 6:11-13)

That no one member of the church is more important than another. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and the Pastor is a servant. All should be obediently following the leading of the Holy Spirit.
(I Cor. 12:12-28; Rom. 8:1-8)
