But look at what Psalm 115 states: the idols have eyes but cannot see; the idols have mouths but cannot speak; the idols have hands and feet but cannot move. What kind of gods are these that have to be picked up and carried around by their worshippers? God does not need us to carry Him – why? Because He already resides in the believer. 1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

It seems like most idols that are made are ugly, fearsome looking things. When Ezekiel was taken by the Spirit of God to see the Temple in Ezekiel chapter 8, he described the idols he saw in the Temple of God like this: Ezekiel 8:10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about. Note that Psalm 115 tells us: Psalm 115:8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them. The makers of the idols are really only reflecting themselves onto their statues and that is what we see today; people trying to remake God in their own image. On February 5, 2010, President Obama held a prayer breakfast at the White House. President Obama calls himself a Christian and yet, at no time did he mention the name of Jesus Christ. One would think that if you were a follower of Jesus Christ, you would want to share Him with others especially in a room full of Muslims, Hindus, Jews, and other religions.

He called the latter “another step toward global management of our planet” (“EU Presidency,” BBC News, Nov. 21, 2009). Rompuy is currently the Prime Minister of Belgium, but he will step down to assume the new position on January 1. The mythical “man-made global warming” crisis is one of the largest international power grabs in recent history, and it is another step toward the one-world government prophesied in Scripture. At the same time, the Bible says that the Holy Spirit is restraining the “mystery of iniquity” until God’s plan for the church age is complete. The Devil is not in control. “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming” (2 Thessalonians 2:7-8).

By Jack Chick:
Soul winners today should consider the famous saying, “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” America is ignoring the history of other nations who have strayed from the Bible. King David observed in Psalms 9:17: The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

An Israeli news article in 2007 by Paul E. Marek, brings current events into sharp focus. He remembers a wealthy German who survived World War II describing the situation that led up to Hitler. He said very few of the German common people were actually Nazis. They were quietly going about their lives, considering Hitler’s crowd just “a bunch of fools.” “So,” he said, “The majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.”

Marek goes on to describe how we are told that Islam is a peaceful religion. He says that the “peaceful” Muslims are irrelevant: “The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars world wide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or execute honor killings. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. The hard, quantifiable fact is that the “peaceful majority” is the “silent majority,” and it is cowed and extraneous.”

Besides Hitler, the “peaceful majority” slept while the communists took control of Russia and China. Marek further reminds us of history. Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Bosnians, Afghanis, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians and many others, have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. As for us, watching it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts: the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

Soul winners, we cannot be part of that “silent majority.” Too many Christians are like the German common people: going about their lives oblivious of the gathering storm. Americans have been given a freedom to witness that is rare in history. Most Christians over the centuries, have had to hide their faith, or risk imprisonment or death to share it. Today, more than half the world is basically hostile to the gospel. Some have estimated that over 50,000 Christians are martyred every year.

The burning question is: what are we doing with the precious freedom that we have? History tells us that that freedom was bought with blood and lost fortunes. Many Christian leaders are beginning to question how much longer we will have that freedom. Only God knows but His commission still stands to go and make disciples.

Sharing our faith with another person is our top priority as believers. But Satan has us moving so fast that it is difficult to stop long enough to personally share the gospel. But it only takes a second to hand someone a gospel tract or plant it where it will be noticed. We must share the gospel with anyone who will listen, and not forget to put a copy of the good news in their hands if they are too busy to listen.

This letter to the editor appeared in the Syracuse Post-Standard on October 12, 2009. I am typing out the whole letter, but leaving out the writer’s name.

To The Editor:

It appears to us that today’s Pharisees differ little from the Pharisees of yesteryear. Persecution of Christ, persecution of our President Obama.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall inherit the Earth.” May we strive at least to be at peace with each other.

Now, the first question that comes to mind is: what is a Pharisee? The Pharisees of the time of Jesus Christ were the Jewish religious leaders. The Pharisees were strict followers of the Law and often went beyond what the Law mandated. They also tended to demand more of other Jews than what they themselves were willing to do. The Pharisees saw God as a taskmaster — not loving — and felt that keeping the Law was what was important. In other words, their motivation was wrong: they should have been keeping the Law because they loved God, not because they wanted to appear holier than others.

Matthew 23:1-7 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, (2) Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: (3) All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. (4) For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. (5) But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, (6) And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, (7) And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

Now I am not sure exactly who the letter writers are referring to when they discuss “today’s Pharisees.” There have been extremely few public religious figures that have spoken out against President Obama. Perhaps the letter writers are referring to the conservative talk show hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck or maybe the leadership in the GOP. And perhaps they are referring to President Obama’s recently awarded Nobel Peace Prize. Personally, I am guessing President Obama won the prize as a symbol, not for any accomplishment. Please read:

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2009/10/09/tommy-seno-obama-nobel-prize-win/

Truly what bothers me about the letter is the comparison of Barack Obama to Jesus Christ. That comparison has been made by many people ever since President Obama entered the presidential race. Louis Farrakhan called Barack Obama “the Saviour” back in 2008. I quote:

Addressing a large crowd behind a podium Feb. 24 with a Nation of Islam Saviour’s Day 2008 sign, Farrakhan proclaims,

“You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn’t care anything about. That’s a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking.”

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=77539

This painting was going to be unveiled.

To compare President Obama to Jesus Christ is blasphemous. The “persecution” that President Obama has had is nothing — in fact, less than nothing — compared to what Jesus Christ endured before His crucifixion. Physically, Jesus Christ was beaten, spat upon, scourged, and had His beard plucked and then forced to carry his cross to Calvary. There He was nailed to the cross and gave up His life. Spiritually, the suffering He bore was even worse as He had the sins of the world placed upon Him. Jesus Christ died for the ungodly, so they can be reconciled with God the Father. He is the Saviour for those that come to Him in faith and trust in Him and have repented of their sin.

Romans 5:6-10 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (7) For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. (8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (9) Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (10) For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

There is simply no comparison between Barack Obama and Jesus Christ. AND when you consider President Obama’s position on abortion, you cannot compare the two.

Lastly, the Bible verse the letter writers used is really a mixture of two verses. The correct verse is:

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

What peace has Obama made? If anything, he has worked against the cause of peace with his efforts against Israel.

The other verse they mixed in is:

Mat 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

President Obama is anything but meek.

It’s funny where you have to search for truth these days.

Who would have thought we’d hear it from 81-year-old singer Andy Williams, best known for his rendition of “Moon River”?

Asked by Radio Times in London what he thought about Barack Obama, he replied: “Don’t like him at all. I think he wants to create a socialist country. The people he associates with are very left-wing. One is registered as a Communist. Obama is following Marxist theory. He’s taken over the banks and the car industry. He wants the country to fail.”

A rather succinct, but accurate, view of the man in the White House.

This is not a popular view in the entertainment industry, but it’s true – provably so.

It is a fact that Hegelian-Marxist thinking is the driving force in America’s political debate today.

What does that mean?

The Hegelian dialectic is the framework for guiding thoughts and actions into conflicts that lead to a predetermined solution.

How does it work?

It employs the weapons of intimidation, even terror, to reach a state of virtual mind control among the populace.

Hegel saw the state as having the absolute right to define right and wrong and freedom.

“The state has the supreme right against the individual, whose supreme duty is to be a member of the state … for the right of the world spirit is above all special privileges,” he wrote.

In other words, it is the polar opposite of the principles upon which America was founded – limited government, sovereign rights of the individual.

Hegel anticipated the problem of persuading sovereign individuals to hand over their power to the state, so he cleverly devised a theory of conning the people through obfuscation.

You can see this dialectic at work today in the debate over health care.

How long have we been hearing that health care in America is at a crisis point? Something must be done right now. The private sector is failing the people. There are too many people without health care.

Do you really think the statists who are pushing this crisis care about people’s health care?

It’s a joke.

What they care about is their own political empowerment and in expanding the role of the state in our lives.

Here’s the way Vladimir Lenin explained his strategy: “We must be ready to employ trickery, deceit, lawbreaking, withholding and concealing truth. We can and must write in a language which sows among the masses hate, revulsion, scorn and the like, towards those who disagree with us.”

It’s worth remembering that it was Lenin who first implemented “free universal health care.” It was one of his crowning achievements. Did it work? Were people healthier? Were they freer? Were they more prosperous? Of course not. Lenin’s idealized vision led directly to the gulags and to a series of horrors, terrors and genocides only rivaled by another Marxist-Hegelian’s leadership – Mao Zedong.

Lenin also believe the best and surest and fastest way to take down a capitalist system was to debauch its currency.

It seems like Barack Obama is indeed following the script of the first man to put Marxism into practice.

It’s impossible to look at the actions of Barack Obama and conclude that he is actually trying to fix problems in the United States. Can anyone believe the automotive industry will be better off under government control? Can anyone believe health care in America will be better and less expensive when it is run by the government? Can anyone believe that government can deficit spend its way into prosperity?

I think Barack Obama is way too smart to believe that.

That’s why I agree with Andy Williams that Barack Obama’s goal is to see the country fail.

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=111515

This is a good column by Howard Fineman. I do not know anything about Mr. Fineman, but I think he is right on the money with this column.

If ubiquity were the measure of a presidency, Barack Obama would already be grinning at us from Mount Rushmore. But of course it is not. Despite his many words and television appearances, our elegant and eloquent president remains more an emblem of change than an agent of it. He’s a man with an endless, worthy to-do list—health care, climate change, bank reform, global capital regulation, AfPak, the Middle East, you name it—but, as yet, no boxes checked “done.” This is a problem that style will not fix. Unless Obama learns to rely less on charm, rhetoric, and good intentions and more on picking his spots and winning in political combat, he’s not going to be reelected, let alone enshrined in South Dakota.

The president’s problem isn’t that he is too visible; it’s the lack of content in what he says when he keeps showing up on the tube. Obama can seem a mite too impressed with his own aura, as if his presence on the stage is the Answer. There is, at times, a self-referential (even self-reverential) tone in his big speeches. They are heavily salted with the words “I” and “my.” (He used the former 11 times in the first few paragraphs of his address to the U.N. last week.) Obama is a historic figure, but that is the beginning, not the end, of the story.

It is a sad day in America when this kind of commentary can be made by the Russians. Please pray for revival to come through this country once more before it is too late.

An oligarchy is a form of government in which the supreme power is placed in a few hands; a species of aristocracy. Essentially, it is like the pigs in Animal Farm by George Orwell “All animals are equal, some are more equal than others.”

That is exactly what the leaders in this country are promoting — that the elite few are necessary to tell the uninformed masses how to live and behave. And with the increased taxes they are telling us that they know how to spend our money better than we do. A terrific book on this topic is “How Should We Then Live” by Francis Schaeffer.
