I like to send e-cards. It amazes me the number of different holidays that have been concocted over the years to “celebrate.” I was looking through 123greetings.com and found a card under the heading of “You Are Special.”

http://www.123greetings.com/love/you_are_special/heaven_will_not_be_a_heaven.html

The text of the card reads:

If I am in Hell and you are in Heaven,

I’ll always look up and be proud of you!

But if I were in Heaven and you were in Hell,

I’ll beg God to send me to Hell as Heaven won’t be a Heaven without you!

I Love U!

WHAT A HORRIBLE MESSAGE THIS CARD SAYS!!!

Number One: Hell is not place I would wish upon anybody! Everyone that does not know Jesus Christ as their Saviour will end up in Hell — not for a short time; not for an unknown amount of years until your sins have been burned off; but they will be there for an eternity!

Revelation 20:10-15 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever (11) And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. (12) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. (13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. (14) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. (15) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Note that in verse 10 that the torment will be for ever and ever. There is no purgatory and there is no escape. Read Luke 16 and the true story of Lazarus and the Rich man — that rich man is still in Hell today.

Number Two: Those lost souls in Hell will not be looking up into Heaven and “be proud” of anyone! They will weep and wail and gnash their teeth in anguish and torment.

Matthew 13:49-50 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, (50) And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

These lost souls will be in eternal torment and will not be looking up to Heaven. During the Tribulation unrepentant men will have the judgments of God upon them and they will still refuse to repent!

Rev 16:9-11 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. (10) And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, (11) And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

If they were not willing to repent and come to Christ while they still had a chance, they certainly will not speak kindly while in Hell.

Number Four: Nobody who has come to Jesus Christ for salvation and repented of their sins will desire to go to Hell. Furthermore, Heaven is not Heaven because of my friends or relatives. Heaven is Heaven because of Jesus Christ. There is no other reason to desire to be in Heaven than to see Him and be with Him and worship Him. Yes, it will be nice to see friends and relatives — but it will be immensely better to see Jesus Christ.

This card shows the world’s view of Heaven and Hell and it is a very distorted vision of them both. If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Saviour, please humble yourself and come to Him today. Please read the “One Needful Thing” page on this website.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Christ and we will never be one until we and our sin are two.

Sin and hell are married unless repentance proclaims the divorce.

A man may hate sin just as a murderer hates the gallows, but this does not prove repentance. If I hate sin because of the punishment, I have not repented of sin. I merely regret that God is just. But if I can see sin as an offense against Jesus Christ, and loathe myself because I have wounded Him, then I have a true brokenness of heart.

To hate sin because it caused the brow of Christ to be girt with the thorn crown, and the face of Christ to be dishonoured with the spittle, and the hands of Christ to be pierced with the nail — this is repentance — not because I am afraid of hell, not because sin brings pains and penalties with it, but because it made Jesus Christ to suffer for me such pangs unutterable.

From Leonard Ravenhill’s book, Why Revival Tarries.

Charlie Peace was a criminal. Laws of God or man curbed him not. Finally the law caught up with him and he was condemned to death. On the fatal morning in Armley Jail, Leeds, England, he was taken on the death walk. Before him went the prison chaplain, routinely and sleepily reading some Bible verses. The criminal touched the preacher and asked what he was reading.

“The Consolations of Religion,” was the reply. Charlie Peace was shocked at the way he professionally read about Hell. Could a man be so unmoved under the very shadow of the scaffold as to lead a fellow human there and yet, dry-eyed, read of a pit that has no bottom into which this fellow must fall? Could this preacher believe the words that there is an eternal fire that never consumes its victims, and yet slide over the phrase without a tremor? Is a man human at all who can say with no tears, “You will be eternally dying and yet never know the relief that death brings?” All this was too much for Charlie Peace. So he preached. Listen to his on-the-eve-of-hell sermon.

“Sir,” addressing the preacher, “if I believed what you and the church of God say that you believe, even if England were covered with broken glass from coast to coast, I would walk over it, if need be, on hands and knees and think it worth while living, just to save one soul from an eternal Hell like that!”

My reader, because the church has lost Holy Ghost fire, men go to hell-fire! We need a vision of a holy God. God is essentially holy. The cherubim and seraphim were not crying, “Omnipotent! Omnipotent is the Lord! nor “Omnipresent and Omniscient is the Lord!” but “Holy, Holy, Holy!” This vast Hebrew concept needs to penetrate our souls again. If I make my bed in hell, if I take the wings of the morning — yet He is there. God compasses us in time; the inescapable God, awaits us in eternity. We had better be at peace with Him here, and be in the center of His will now!

What does it mean to be ‘saved’? When I read the Bible, I don’t see it meaning, ‘I’m going to heaven after I die.’ Before modern evangelicalism nobody accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, or walked down an aisle, or said the sinner’s prayer. I don’t think the liberals have it right. But I don’t think we have it right either. I don’t think that the entire message and life of Jesus can be boiled down to that bottom line” (“The Emerging Church,” Part Two, Religion & Ethics, July 15, 2005, http://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/week846/cover.html).

The BIBLE says:

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (His death, burial, and resurrection) is understandable to those that will listen to the pricking of the heart by the Holy Spirit. The Gospel needs to be believed, and heard over and over again, and the sinner needs to repent and trust fully in Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Brian McLaren appears to be: everyone is going to Heaven, so we need to save planet Earth. This is a dangerous Gospel and it is leading people down the broad path to Hell.

The Christian faith, I am proposing, should become (in the name of Jesus Christ) a welcome friend to other religions of the world, not a threat”
–Brian McLaren, A Generous Orthodoxy McLaren, p.254

The Apostle Paul wrote:

2Corinthians 6:14-18 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? (15) And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? (16) And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. (18) And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Brian McLaren wrote:

This is how I feel when I’m offered a choice between the roads of exclusivism (only confessing Christians go to heaven), universalism (everyone goes to heaven), and inclusivism (Christians go to heaven, plus at least some others). Each road takes you somewhere, to a place with some advantages and disadvantages, but none of them is the road of my missional calling: blessed in this life to be a blessing to everyone on earth.”
–Brian McLaren, A Generous Orthodoxy McLaren, p. 113

The Apostle John wrote:

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Paul wrote:

Romans 15:5-6 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: (6) That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ declared:

Matthew 7:12-14 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. (13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

We need to bless others in that our conversation (life) should glorify God. However, blessing others does them no good, if they do not come to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. Feeding others (which is a good thing to do) takes care of their temporary problem, but when you give them the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that takes care of their eternal life!

Jesus Christ also said:

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
