Zephaniah 1 part 5
God has not promised skies always blue,
Flower strewn pathways all our lives through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.
But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the laborer, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love. – Annie Johnson Flint
We must always remember that God is a God of love, but He is also a God of Judgment and Righteousness. He is a God of Love, but He is also a God of Holiness and Truth. He is a God of Love, but He is also a God of Wrath and Justice.
Zephaniah 1:7 Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.
What does that mean: Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD? It means, “Be quiet! Hush!” When the child of God will be in His Presence the first thing we will do is fall down onto our faces before Him in worship. We are not going to dance or sing around Him, we are going to humble ourselves before Him. There is a distinct lack of respect for who God is and what He has done through His Son, Jesus Christ. People fail to recognize Him as the LORD of LORDS, and the King of Kings, and instead want to view God as a TV sitcom dad: lovable and goofy. People do not realize who God is, because they have not been taught who God is. Why has that happen? Because the Bible is not being taught like it use to be taught.
