(Proverbs 27:20) Hell and destruction are never full;so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
Man’s eyes are never satisfied when they are looking away from God. That is why we must be very careful about what we place in front of our eyes. There is a saying:“Garbage in,Garbage out.” In other words what we put in,is what will come back out. An example:when we read a book or watch a movie or television show laced with profanity,we find ourselves using those foul words, sometimes when we least expect it. Why is that? Because we are taking in garbage and what goes in will come out.
Matt.15:17-20,Christ says:
Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart;and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:These are the things which defile a man:but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
What we put into our heart is what will come out as well, that is why we need to be very careful about what we look upon. Reading or watching things that have profanity, reading or watching things that have images of lustful activities will affect us. These things will affect us,we will not notice it at first, but slowly, bit by bit,the lustful images, the profanities, the evil thoughts will seep out of us and become evident to others even if we do not notice them ourselves. Garbage in,garbage out.
The sin does not begin when you are on your fifth beer or watching hard core pornography or page 73 of a Stephen King novel, the sin begins when you start considering your first beer or thinking lustfully or picking up the novel.
Jas 1:14-15 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. (15) Then when lust hath conceived,it bringeth forth sin:and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Sin almost always has a progression to it —you start small and work your way deeper into it. Sin always starts in the mind, you think about it before you do it.
The solution? Repentance. Repent of your sins. Do not even think about picking up a can of beer. Keep your eyes away from what may cause you to have lustful thoughts. Do not put yourself into a place of temptation. Look to the Lord Jesus Christ and conform to Him.
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report;if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
What you put in,is what is going to come out. Pure in,pure out. Or Garbage in,garbage out. It is your choice.
